New this year will be “Jackson Square” where vendors from throughout Orange County will exhibit their wares and services in a festive Carnival atmosphere. There will also be a pie-eating contest.
And as always revelers will delight in a "Taste of New Orleans" with delectable dishes from Bourbon Street — Fine Food and Drinks, the Cellar, The Olde Ship, Collette’s and Big B’s Barbeque among others.
Bonne Musique Zydeco will provide live music. There will be door prizes, fortunetellers, New Orleans’ dance lessons and street performers. Guests will enjoy a full bar including beer, wine, hurricanes and soft drinks.
"Mardi Gras in July is our major fundraiser for the year," said Minerva Hildago, WTLC Director. "We are the only domestic shelter program in Orange County that provides a haven for women and their children, both female and male, who are victims of abuse, substance problems and human trafficking," she added.
